About the Technique

Tira de rejilla - Tekit,Yucatán

The tira de rejilla is commonly used in guayaberas most notably seen in Tekit,Yucatán, also known as the Guayabera Capital. Bordado de rejilla, the embroidery is first drawn by hand by tracing the lines to follow. This embroidery is done by delimiting the drawing, then taking this line as a base, it is embroidered where the grid is intended to be made, with cotton thread.
