The bark is softened in river water, naturally dyed in black swamp mud, sun-dried, and hand-twisted into strong fibre. Using age-old weaving techniques passed down through generations, women artisans of Kambot Village in East Sepik, Papua New Guinea, transform these fibres into striking, durable bilums — each one a unique expression of culture and craftsmanship.

Care InstructionsEach bilum is one-of-a-kind and handcrafted using natural materials.
